Static drops hip-hop gems from all eras, from 90s Bush Babees and Lord Finesse to brand new Treach and Keelay & Zaire. The Beatles, Bob Marley and James Brown get re-touched in a trio of funk covers. Moussa Doumbia and Mombasa invoke the groove of Mother Africa, and the Artifacts rip rhymes over Galt MacDermot's haunting "Ripped Open by Metal Explosions".

What track is that in the intro?

thetaxman beatles remix was dope sample was classic. cypress hill rocks
keep the intro Groove, without it the show wouldn't be the show! thanks for the double dose of Planet Asia...
props to Scott C for a KILLER intro!
keep droppin the impromptu verses on those intros Groove! love it.
That would make it "poetry in motion" wouldn't it LOL
Benoit: The spoken part of the intro is a tradition that goes all the way back to '96 when WEFUNK started. Each week is different. I write them while walking to the studio on Friday night. I definitely wouldn't call it a rap (though that's flattering) - I'm not an emcee or a poet.
Love the remixed intros, love the shows, but what's up with those soft voiced little intro "rap" things. You are not Venus Flytrap!
surprised by that treach track. flammable, indeed.
Hell yeah. Travelin' Man is prob my favorite Mos Def song.
